2 Hours Merzouga Buggy Tour
Two hours behind the wheel: higher dunes, longer valleys, a tea stop with nomads and a summit with views over the whole Erg Chebbi.
With two hours you have time to master the buggy and enjoy the bigger dunes. Your guide drives ahead and chooses the line; you follow his tracks up the slopes and down the soft faces, where the buggy slides gently on the sand.
Halfway we stop at a nomad family's tent for mint tea and a chat about desert life. The last part of the tour climbs to one of the high points of Erg Chebbi, where the dunes stretch to the horizon in every direction.

Good to know
The driver needs a car driving licence. Wear closed shoes and sunglasses; the buggy can carry one passenger.
No payment is needed to book: you pay on the day in cash (dirhams or euros). Free changes if the weather is not good.
Before you ride
Do I need a driving licence for the buggy?
We ask the driver to have a car driving licence. The passenger does not need anything, just a sense of adventure.
Is the buggy good for families?
Yes. With seat belts and a roll cage it is the safest way to share the dunes with older children sitting next to a parent.
Is it difficult to drive on the dunes?
Not with a guide. He chooses the lines and shows you how to climb and descend. You simply follow his tracks at your own pace.
What is the best time of day?
Morning and late afternoon, when the sand is cooler and the light is beautiful. In summer we ride only at sunrise and sunset.
