A buggy: the comfortable way to go big
A buggy (also called SSV or UTV) has two seats side by side, a steering wheel, a roll cage and seat belts. It climbs dunes that a quad cannot, and it lets two people share the same adventure, so it is the favourite of couples, friends and parents riding with older children.
You drive, we lead. Before starting, your guide explains the controls and the golden rules of driving on sand. Then you follow his tracks through Erg Chebbi, with stops on the crests to enjoy the silence and take photos.
Before you ride
Do I need a driving licence for the buggy?
We ask the driver to have a car driving licence. The passenger does not need anything, just a sense of adventure.
Is the buggy good for families?
Yes. With seat belts and a roll cage it is the safest way to share the dunes with older children sitting next to a parent.
Is it difficult to drive on the dunes?
Not with a guide. He chooses the lines and shows you how to climb and descend. You simply follow his tracks at your own pace.
What is the best time of day?
Morning and late afternoon, when the sand is cooler and the light is beautiful. In summer we ride only at sunrise and sunset.
