Why ride a quad in Erg Chebbi
Erg Chebbi is the most famous sea of dunes in Morocco: 28 km of soft orange sand with crests up to 150 m high, right behind the village of Merzouga. A quad is the most fun way to feel its size, from the smooth valleys between the dunes to the open plains of the black desert around it.
All our quads are automatic, checked every morning and handed over with a helmet and goggles. Your guide rides in front, adapts the route to your level and stops wherever the view is worth a photo. Beginners start on gentle sand; confident riders go higher and further.
Before you ride
Do I need experience to ride a quad?
No. The quads are automatic and you get a briefing and a short practice on flat sand before entering the dunes.
Can children ride?
Drivers are usually 16 or older. Younger children can ride as passengers with an adult on a duo quad or in a buggy. We confirm the details when you book.
What should I wear?
Closed shoes, long trousers and sunglasses. We give you a helmet, goggles and a Berber scarf against the sand. In winter bring a warm layer for sunset.
What is the best time of day?
Morning and late afternoon, when the sand is cooler and the light is beautiful. In summer we ride only at sunrise and sunset.
