Sunset Camel Ride in Merzouga
Walk into the dunes of Erg Chebbi on camelback with a local cameleer, watch the sunset from a crest and come back under the first stars.
The camel is the original way to cross the Sahara, and riding one through Erg Chebbi is a moment of pure calm. Your cameleer wraps your scarf the Berber way, helps you climb on and leads the caravan at the slow pace of the desert.
After about an hour we leave the camels resting and climb a dune on foot to watch the sunset over the sea of sand. The walk back is in the soft light of dusk. A perfect activity for all ages, and the classic photo of any trip to Morocco.
