Full Day 4x4 Tour: Merzouga, Rissani & Erg Chebbi
The complete region in one day: the dunes, nomads and Gnawa village, the market town of Rissani, old ksour and the fossil workshops of Erfoud.
This full-day 4x4 tour shows you why the Tafilalet region was once the end of the great Saharan caravan routes. In the morning we circle Erg Chebbi with a nomad visit, Khamlia's Gnawa music and the black desert.
After lunch we drive to Rissani, with its lively souk (busiest on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday), the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif and the ruins of ancient Sijilmassa. On the way back we stop at a fossil workshop in Erfoud and return to Merzouga for sunset over the dunes.

Before you ride
What will I see on a 4x4 tour?
The dunes from every side, a nomad family, the Gnawa village of Khamlia, the black desert, fossils, old mines and, after the rains, a lake with flamingos.
Can I combine it with the camp?
Yes. The afternoon 4x4 tour can end at our luxury camp, with a short camel ride for the sunset.
How many people fit in a 4x4?
Up to 6 passengers per vehicle. For bigger groups we add more cars, each with its own driver.
What is the best time of day?
Morning and late afternoon, when the sand is cooler and the light is beautiful. In summer we ride only at sunrise and sunset.
